It covers an area of 550 acres, which includes old fields and tall grass prairies. Here you’ll also find 100 acres native Ohio prairie. This prairie was established over many years and is today one of the most heavily planted in Ohio. The park has plenty of wheelchair-accessible facilities. You can even find a picnic spot and playground for your children.
More than 4 miles of biking and hiking trails are available in this park. There is a boardwalk which crosses the creek to reach the frog pool. You can find picnic spots with tables and shelters. There is also drinking water available in the park. In the warmer months there are many stocked lakes and ponds for fishing. The farm houses and animals can be toured by visitors. Argonne MetroPark is a reclaimed site for amusement parks. This 1.4-mile loop, which is purple in color, features remnants of an amusement park. You can access the trail by parking at the park. Open from April 1-October 31, the Argonne Forest can be accessed. You are welcome to enjoy picnics in any of the parks’ many picnic shelters during this time.
